Happy New Year! I have to say....I am so envious of all of the great training you get to do. I sometimes find myself
day dreaming of riding my bike down the hill from Hanauma Bay to Sandy Beach-that beautiful scenery, feeling the warm tropical breeze and seeing the waves crash up on the rocks below the cliff. I always found myself feeling so grateful for those moments, but now I "feel" so much more about it all...oh how I am missing home today. I have time now to think of the
things that I miss most about home...things that would bring me instant joy.
So so many of them involve "movement" in the outdoors (plus the group shower!...you know how I love the group shower) So, when you are out training this weekend, when, and if you have a moment where it gets difficult and you are anxiously anticipating the end of the workout, well, take that moment and be grateful for that moment for me okay? Rest assured,
I'll be in a gym running on a treatmill, listening to my headphones, trying to vizualize my favorite Foodland to Makau'u run.
I managed (a stretch of the word) to run on New Year's Day....a race called "Resolution Run", a 5K in 8 degrees at 12:00pm in the afternoon. It was a COLD one. I was wearing 5 layers on top and two on bottom and still managed to get numb feet.
