Here is a message from Nguyen regarding Dick Evans Memorial Road Race. Volunteers are needed to man the first feed zone in Wahiawa, please contact Gay if you are willing to pass out water bottles or she will get in touch with you. :0) More information to follow. Attached is the revised & completed 2011 DEMRR Race Guide in PDF format, including a description of the new finish line and the awards described below (at bottom of message). Please distribute widely to all cyclists and triathletes. The registration deadline for the $200 Lucky Raffle is 8/12/2011. Note the total in cash prizes is tentatively $1480 plus $100 in Hard Rock beer money to the top team. There will also be lots of door prizes & gifts for volunteers and participants.
We need to line up the volunteers and vehicles for the mech. support and feed zones. Please email me if you would like to help organizing any of the following:

There will also be 2 motorcycle escorts that will carry water bottles to guide and service the lead pack where feasible and safe – riders should not rely solely on this for their feeds.
2011 DEMRR Prizes & Awards
- Individual Finisher Awards:
i. Perpetual Trophy recognition for first place. Awards for overall places 1-10, women 1-3, Golden Masters (50+ years old) 1-3, and Juniors 1-3.
ii. Cash Prizes as follows (amounts may change based on participation):
- 1st Overall: $300
- 2nd Overall: $200
- 3rd Overall: $100
- 4th Overall: $80
- 5th Overall: $50
- 1st Female: $200
- 2nd Female: $100
- 3rd Female: $50
- 1st Junior: $50
- 1st Golden Masters: $100
- 2nd Golden Masters: $50
- “Lucky” Raffle: $200 Register before 8/12/2011 to qualify
The race director reserves the right to change the prizes at any time.
- Team Awards:
i. Perpetual trophy recognition for first place team. A team is a USAC registered team/club and the score is based upon the combined placing of the top 5 men and top 3 women from each team (i.e., points will be used, not finishing time). Medals will be given to the participants (5 men/3 women) for the top 3 teams. $100 in beer credit at the Hard Rock Café will be given to the top team – gotta drink it at the party!
