Dick Evans Memorial Road Race takes place this Sunday, September 4, 2011.

I am looking for volunteers to man the first feed zone at Pineapple Hill in Wahiawa. Plan on meeting at Pineapple Hill between 6:45-6:55 am to get instructions and situated in your area. Riders are estimated to get to the feed zone around 7ish. After the riders go thru, we will have to bag the used bottles and pick up any trash left behind. Since this is the first aid station, the riders should be closely
grouped so we should be finished around 8 ish.

I hope to have all water bottles and sports drink available to distribute on the Tuesday, so if you can help by filling up water bottles and transporting them to Pineapple Hill, I would appreciate this.

If you are able and willing to help, please "comment" to this message with your name.

Thank you for your assistance to the race and the cycling community.
As many of you have already heard about the passing of one of our team members, Thomas Novikoff, I would like to pass on this message from David Lum regarding the memorial service for Thomas.

Team,

Services for Thomas Novikoff will be on Sunday, January 16 at 11:30 am at
Puu Ualakaa Park on Mount Tantalus
(Round Top side of Tantalus). Mrs.
Novikoff chose Tantalus because it was Thomas' favorite place to
ride. Mike Fujita will dedicate the Tantalus Time
Trial in honor of Thomas, who was an avid climber and all-around
gifted
cyclist. He will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched.

Many cyclists have expressed that they would like to honor Thomas
by doing a short ride to the top of Tantalus
on the Makiki side. If you'd like to be a part of the ride, meet at
the bottom of Tantalus (Makiki Pumping Station) at 10:15 am. Thomas' mom
said that everyone is invited to come however they want (bike clothes or
otherwise). The actual service is at 11:30 am at Puu Ualakaa Park
which is on the Round Top side.
