Thanks to all who helped out and participated in the Makaha Beach Time Trial this year! We had a record turnout with a lot of names that were new to me which is a good sign that we have an exciting race season ahead of us. The weather was great this time and I got some good feedback on the well swept roads. Mahalo to Barry and crew (Bev, Greg, James and Woody) for spending their Saturday morning

Stage.....1stage top of lunalino2stage wind tunnels of of hawaii kai drive and 3rd kahala ave to top oftriangle park must win 2out of 3 cambiocore members only but if u arenot a member u can join in but will not be place and must obey alltraffic awards & prizes will be given to 1st 2nd & 3rd at everyend of da month at bar35/ WED night 10 to 2am wit DJ RUMBUS host sprint party...... Ok dats it.........keep points till end of da month for grandprize ....

Got H.U.R.T. ?

Congratulations to Rod Huddleston (27 hours 18 minutes), Ryan Seto (34 hours 51 minutes) and Fish Arabia (29 hours 38 minutes) for completing the H.U.R.T. 100 held on Saturday-Sunday, January 16-17, 2010. Rod came in an amazing 7th place overall and 2nd Hawaii finisher. Wow, awesome! Ryan also completed his first 100 mile race, and if that wasn't torture enough, biked on Tuesday. Ouch!

Words out that Raymond Davidson, Andrew Chong and John Antonio were also up in the hills pacing these runners, while they ran 4 loops through Nu`uanu to the Nature Center and Manoa Falls.

Raymond, Nina and Nicholas Davidson celebrated the end of 2009 with the newest addition to their family.

Logan Lehua Sumi Davidson was born on Dec. 28, 2009.

While most of us were dodging the rain this past Sunday Tony was on the Big Island doing the Adventure to Lala land Road Race which he managed to finish and win before the hail started to drop. Congratulations!!

I haven't seen the article yet but someone told me that our Tuesday training ride was featured in the latest issue of Bicycling Magazine. We'll probably do a long post Christmas ride on Saturday so bring some extra gels/bars.

Dick Evans Memorial Road Race Results

Congratulations to the Team Core/Cambio riders who competed in the Dick Evans Memorial Road Race. Our team came in third place for the team competition. Everyone looked strong and made it around the island safely. There were a few minor scrapes but no major accidents. Enjoy your much deserved rest and let's focus on next year.

Mahalo, arigato, and a huge THANK YOU to all those who volunteered in various jobs at Dick Evans. I am so grateful to everyone who endured the rain, standing around waiting for the riders, picking up water bottles, driving in the caravan, fixing flats, and most of all your support. This race could not continue without the endless volunteers and you proved once again Cambio/Core is the best team on this island!

Dick Evans Memorial Road Race Update

Thank you to all those individuals who have contacted me to help at Dick Evans. I am still looking for more people to help pass out water bottles, so if you are available, PLEASE call or email me. If you can bring a small cooler to hold approximately 16 water bottles, this would be helpful. We'll give each person their own bottles to hand out and the cooler will keep the bottles cold and off the dirty ground.

Ngyen Le at Momentum Multisport has generously donated 100 water bottles to be used at this feed zone, so we won't be needing any water bottles. If you have any suggestions how we can fill 200 water bottles with water and Gatorade, then transport it all down to the feed zone on Sunday, I would appreciate your suggestions. This is going to be a challenge because Gordon usually helps with this, but he will be riding this year. Yah Gordon!

Mike Green has graciously offered to represent our team to drive in the caravan as a support vehicle. As part of the support vehicle, Mike is going to need someone to ride shotgun with him to man the radio and be the extra "hand" for Mike while he drives. If you are interested in joining Mike, please contact me and I can make the arrangements. If you've never done this, I would encourage you to try it. It's actually really fun because you get police escourted around the island and you get to hear what is going on in the race.

Dick Evans Memorial Road Race Feed Zone

Mark your calendars for Sunday, September 6. 2009. Dick Evans Memorial Road Race is right around the corner and our team is responsible for manning the first feed zone in Kunia as well as a car and driver for the caravan. If you are able to commit to any of these assignments, please "comment" on the blog with your name. I am looking for at least 18-22 people to help at the first feed. We'll meet at 6:20 am in Kunia and we should be done by 7:30 am.

We also need to subsidize 100 water bottles at this aide station, so if you have any extra water bottles you would like to donate, please let me know. We would like to reduce the cost of buying waters and "going green" by recycling water bottles.

Let's support our team riders and come out to cheer the team around the island. If you have any questions, please contact me.

Information can be found by downloading the application sheet below. Registration is now available on Active.com. Let's continue to support the local races around town by signing up or coming down to the crit to cheer on the participants.

Aloha all,

Here is one of the OVERALL "medals" (Koa) for the Aloha State Games "Tour of
Wahiawa" Stage Race. They are 3 inches in diameter. Come on out and win
one! These are in addition to the metal INDIVIDUAL Aloha State Games medals
to be given for each individual event. For example, you can come out and do
only the Time Trial on day 1 and win an ASG medal - but you have to complete
all 3 events to be eligible for the Koa overall medals.

Aloha State Games Cycling Stage Race "Tour of Wahiawa" 2009

Ever dreamed of going to the Olympics to compete with the best athletes in the world?
Well, here is the perfect venue for you. The ALOHA STATE GAMES, "Hawaii's Olympics for the Common Person" takes place between the months of May through July and consists of 16 different sports. The 2009 Aloha State Games Cycling Stage Race, The "Tour of Wahiawa", will be held on June 27-28, 2009 and consist of 3 stages. Riders may elect to compete in any single or combination of stages, however, racers must complete all 3 stages to be eligible for overall awards. More details and information can be found on the application. This race is a combination of Team HACC and Team Cambio.
REMINDER: NO AERO OR TT BARS ALLOWED FOR THE CRITERIUM OR ROAD RACE.

Thank you to Team Core Member, Gail "do you have an application" Hamada for bring this to our attention. The 2009 Honolulu Marathon is scheduled for Sunday, December 13, 2009 starting time 5AM.

The special early entry fee for Hawaii residents is $30 beginning Saturday, May 23rd. Sign up at Sports Authority at Waikele Shopping Center to receive a complimentary Honolulu Marathon gift, while supplies last. Gifts cannot be mailed to entries that are faxed or mailed directly to the Honolulu Marathon office.
